Karen Kent served for thirty years in a professional career in Education: teacher K-8 and Special Education; creator and director of teacher-centered staff development programs such as a teacher centered teacher advisor program, a teacher action-research program; and, trainer and coach to school leadership teams in team building and reflective practices as they were undertaking school reform.
In 2001, she applied to the Center for Teacher Formation (as the Center for Courage and Renewal was then known) and was accepted to the preparation program to become a Courage to Teach facilitator. Over the years she has co-facilitated seasonal retreats for 10-12 cohorts of participants plus a few single weekend introductory retreats. Her interests also include writing poetry and photography.
