Just when it seems as if we have it figured out and we gain a sense of stability – along comes another one of life’s surprises!  From momentary confusion to utter heartache, dealing with change can be bewildering, tripping us up and making it hard to find our way.

And yet change, and the subtle lessons that it brings about, is central to our human experience.  Life is waiting for us to enter into a more authentic sense of wholeness, so often made richer by safely examining the challenges, especially the big ones that tip us off balance.  They may even be the gateway – the very key to a more whole-hearted way of living, allowing our gifts to surface and new creativity to arise.  Navigating transitions and discerning the way forward with courage and grace can open us up to the vitality we are meant to embody.  Based on the principles and practices of a Circle of Trust®, this retreat offers the chance to…

• Pause and reflect in solitude and with others in a safe, nurturing, trustworthy environment.

• Explore the various ways in which difficulty arrives at our door and how when examined with mindful attention, it can contribute new discernment into our deepest longings, life calling, meaning, purpose, and give us the courage to act with integrity and authenticity.

• Tune in to our inner rhythms, learning to listen to our inner teacher, instead of the myriad voices of often well-meaning others.

• Press the re-set button, recalibrate and find our way by diving deeply into habits of mindful attention, self-care and the inner work necessary to allow our true gifts to surface.

Using the seasonal theme of winter, we will explore prose and poetry, stories from several wisdom traditions, periods of silence, reflective writing, and practices which foster mindful attention and the chance to reconnect with body and soul.  There will be time for individual reflection, and large and small group discussions, as well as creative work to give expression to what wants to be known, and looking to what nature wisdom has to show us about change and transition – during winter, and beyond….
