I write a blog called The Leadership Dance. After commenting here on Parker's thoughts, I continued with that theme in my post on November 22. It can be found at http://theleadershipdance.blogspot.com

Additionally, I referenced the Courage and Renewal Blog in the staff newsletter for the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In it I invited people to share a story with me. I've had three people send me a story and one share the book of family photographs he created honoring the lives of his parents. A group of 3 will facilitate the book "40 Day Journey with Parker Palmer" that will begin on Ash Wednesday 2010 (February 17). There is also a blog to go with it with the hope that some will participate in person at our church (St. David's Episcopal Church, San Antonio, TX) on Wednesday evenings and that some will participate on the blog commenting on the daily postings made by the facilitators of the class. What an exciting way to share with each other: through Parker Palmer's books, and in community of studies and blogs. Our blog is

It takes a village to do Courage & Renewal work! The programs of the Center, its affiliates and its 160 facilitators would not have reached 25,000 people over the past decade if they were not embedded in a leader-rich community. This blog reflects the fact that Courage & Renewal work is about "us," not about any one person. So I've invited my colleagues to share in keeping this conversation going, and now we invite you to join us with your thoughts, questions, and stories. As Marge Piercy says in the last stanza of "The Low Road," a marvelous poem about how movements for change unfold,

"it starts when you say We/and know who you mean, and each/day you mean one more.”

If blogs are foreign to you, don’t let that put you off. Last month I had no idea what a blog was, but (with a nod to Stephen Colbert) today I am one -- and so can you!
